Tarik Inman is a Philadelphia-based composer and electronic musician whose work moves between acoustic instruments, voice, and live electronics. He is interested in musical behaviors that feel charged, unstable, or socially legible, borrowing from speech, pop saturation, noise, and physical gesture as much as from notated concert traditions.
With a background in experimental electronic music and vocal performance, Inman’s recent projects explore performer presence, mediation, and the frictions between live bodies and digital systems, drawing on his background in experimental electronic music and vocal performance. His pieces have been performed by the Mise-En Ensemble (New York), VICE Ensemble (Valencia), and Temple University’s New Music Ensemble. He has composed and performed new electroacoustic works as a part of the BEEP Ensemble (Philadelphia).
Inman received his B.S. in Music Technology from Temple University in 2024 and is currently completing an M.M. in Composition at Temple University, where he has studied with William Dougherty, Maurice Wright, Erin Busch, and Adam Vidiksis.
